I'm not really into war movies so much, but this miniseries grabbed my attention. So over the Labor Day weekend, I spent much of my time on the couch watching this show. It's addicting. I thought is was well written and it captured my thoughts. Here' a good
link about it.

You know this movie has special meaning to me since my dad was in the Battle of Bastogne and was a paratrooper with the 101st Division.
He never talked about "the war" because I think for those who saw it first hand it was too much to bear. He was only a kid when he was there, 19. About the same age as my son is now. Hard to comprehend.
My wife & I watched the series together a few years ago (2006 I believe). After watching it we both remarked that we felt we'd been through the war with the guys in the miniseries. Very very well done!
I started to watch the other Tom Hanks miniseries, From the Earth to the Moon-- and while I found it interesting from a historical prespective I didn't find it as engaging as Band of Brothers. Although, when I recently re-watched Apollo 13 on Cinemax I found it just as engaging as when I first saw it in a movie theater.
Barbara-after seeing that Bastogne segment, I can somewhat imagine what your father went through.
Perplexio-I really enjoyed Apollo 13. A great movie!
