Packers Week # 11

The Packers swept the Minnesota Vikings this season, beating them again, 31-3. Here are my thoughts of the game....

In the first quarter, the Vikings held the Pack to only eight yards.
For the rest of the game, it was all Packers...
Packer QB Aaron Rodgers threw for 301 yards and four TD's.
The Vikings ARE in a mess...there was squabbling on the sidelines.
Me thinks Viking's coach Brad Childress is not coming back next season...
Neither will Brett Farve...

More on the game here

The rate things are going Childress may not be back next WEEK let alone next season!

The Pack downright DOMINATED the Vikings. Maybe it's just me but the past few seasons I think Bears & Packers fans have been in agreement on one thing... their mutual dislike of the Vikings.

Cleveland came close yesterday 24-20. Their defense forced 6 turnovers but their offense failed to capitalize on the fruits of their defensive efforts. Their O-Line needs improvement as Colt McCoy was sacked 6 times and his lack of protection figures into his failure to capitalize on any of Jacksonville's 6 turnovers. The other glaring stat-- The Browns had 5 penalties for 45 yards vs. Jacksonville's 2 penalties for 10 yards. If they can improve their O-Line and become more disciplined (taking fewer bad penalties) they WILL be a force to be reckoned with next season. Not sure whether or not Mangini will keep his job. I think he's safe for the rest of the season as the team is starting to gel better and changing coach mid-season could disrupt that growing chemistry. But if Cleveland keeps losing these close games I believe Mangini will be joining Wade Phillips in the unemployment line (along with Brad Childress and I'm guessing Josh McDaniels as well) by the end of the season.

I'd love to see Bill Cowher coaching the Browns. I know Cowher turned down the Browns when approached by Phil Savage. But it was Phil Savage and the Browns were a mess at the time. I would have turned down Phil Savage! I think Cowher would be more apt to say yes to working for Mike Holmgren. If not Cowher, I wouldn't mind Jon Gruden.

From what I read in the paper today Childress got fired last night. So I doubt that we see him anymore. Then we have Favre on the sideline pouting and yelling at the offense coach. More than likely telling the coach that it was not his fault that they lost. It is never Favre's fault for anything.

Yes this was a real good game. The Packer's really deserved to win that won. I have to give it the team they really came to win the game together.

Well folks, it's official..Brad Childress is out of a job! That makes it the second head coach this year to get the axe after getting spanked by the Packers. (Wade Phillips was the first.) That's gotta be a record....

I see Josh McDaniels as being the next to get the axe. And depending on how the rest of the season pans out for Cleveland Eric Mangini might get the axe sometime after McDaniels.
