Rock and Roll Trivia

I've got something I'd like to try...Rock and Roll Trivia. If it goes well, it may be a regular thing on my blog.

1) What bands can you name with ONE original member through out their career. Extra bonus if you can name that member.

2) Who was Tom Petty's guitar instructor?

3) Where was Lynyrd Skynyrd from?

4) What is Bono's real name?

I am doing this off the top of my so if I wrong...

But I believe Ian Paice is the only member of Deep Purple to appear on every album.

Lynyrd Skynrd is from Jacksonville Florida (so is Molly Hatchet).

That's all I got without looking them up.

1. With ONLY one consistent original member?
REO Speedwagon - Neal Doughty
Styx - James Young
Deep Purple - Ian Paice
King Crimson - Robert Fripp
Toto - Steve Lukather*
Boston - Tom Scholz
Asia - Geoff Downes
Bad Company - Mick Ralphs
The Guess Who - Jim Kale**

2. No idea... I'll guess though, Eric Clapton?

3. No idea

4. Bono's real name is Paul Hewson.

* Both Steve Lukather and David Paich have appeared on all Toto albums. However David Paich retired from touring from 2003-2008. Making Steve Lukather the only member to have appeared on all Toto albums AND performed at every live Toto concert in the band's history.
** In 1979 there were 3 different incarnations of The Guess Who. Jim Kale was in one of them although the other 2 also contained original members. I believe Jim Kale is the only member of the Guess Who to have consistently been a member of the band in at least one of its many incarnations over the years.

1) You're both right on this! Ian Paice has appeared on every Deep Purple album.

Perplexo, I didn't know of Toto nor the Guess Who having only one consistent member. The things I learn each day. :)

Others are-
Black Sabbath-Tony Iommoi
Rainbow-Richie Blackmore
Whitesnake-David Coverdale
Foreigner-Mick Jones
Yes-Chris Squire
Journey-Johnathan Cain
Pink Floyd-Nick Mason
Foghat-Roger Earl
Guns n' Roses-Axel Rose

There's probably more..

2) Don Felder of the Eagles

3) That's correct, Brett!

4) And you got it Perplexo!

Actually with Journey isn't Neal Schon the only original member? Jonathan Cain didn't join until after Greg Rolie left.

The original line up of Journey was:

Neal Schon - Guitar
Prarie Prince - Drums & Percussion (Prince left the group before they recorded their debut and ended up being the drummer for The Tubes, he was replaced by Aynsley Dunbar)
Gregg Rolie - Keyboards & vocals
Ross Valory - Bass (Valory is still in the band but was fired prior to the Raised on Radio album. He was brought back for the Trial By Fire album and has been with the band ever since).

*Slaps hand on forehead* I'm such a goof! I have all the Journey albums and why did I say Jonathan Cain? I should know better that Neil Schon was the right answer...Thank you for pointing that out for me Perplexo.
