Packers Week #5

On this beautiful Sunday afternoon, the Packers lost to the Washington Redskins 16-13. The game had gone into overtime.

Here are my thoughts of the game:

The 'Skins and the Pack seemed evenly matched through out the game-both sides playing good football.
Injuries plagued the Packers-Clay Matthews, Aaron Rodgers, Donald Lee, Jermicheal Finley, and others all went down.
Aaron Rodgers suffered a concussion, but played through out the game.
Donovan McNabb shows no sign of aging...
The Packers are now 3-2.

More on the game here.

The Browns had similar issues. Seneca Wallace went down with a leg injury in the first half so Delhomme had to step in despite not yet being fully recovered from his sprained ankle. The Falcons took full advantage of Delhomme's ankle. Chances are the Browns are going to pick up another QB now as their 3rd stringer Colt McCoy isn't quite ready. And the last time the Browns rushed a newly drafted QB into a starting role it didn't end that well (Tim Couch). I think the Browns really want McCoy to be the QB of the future, but Holmgren knows how to groom a QB into a starting role rather than rushing him into the role (as evidenced by his time in GB with Favre). So I think it will be 2 or 3 seasons before McCoy starts taking snaps for the Browns in regular season games.

The question is, who will the Browns try to pick up?

Perplexo, after thinking long and hard about it, I haven't a clue.

If it's any condolence, Aaron Rodgers may be out for next week's game due to a concussion.

I just read that the Browns signed Brett Ratliff of the Patriots practice squad. The Browns cut him in the pre-season in favor of rookie Colt McCoy. Right now it looks like McCoy will be starting for Cleveland this Sunday with Ratliff as his back-up due to the high ankle sprains of both Seneca Wallace and Jake Delhomme.

Who is Aaron Rodgers back-up?

That would be 3rd year pro Matt Flynn.

The Packers just have too many injuries to overcome this season. They lost their starting running back, tight end, and linebacker among other key players.
