Little River Band Comes to Racine!

It's not too often a major name comes to Racine. At least not so since Harbor Fest folded up almost four years ago. (Being stuck between Milwaukee and Chicago doesn't help) It came to a surprise to me to find out Australian rockers Little River Band are coming to the Memorial Hall on Sunday, January 30, 2011. Tickets are $25. They are known for hits like "Reminiscing", "Lady", "Lonesome Loser", "Cool Change" and "The Night Owls"

That's just down the road from me. I may go.

Keep in mind this incarnation of LRB features NO original members. Back in the 90s the lone remaining original member at the time, Glenn Shorrock, inadvertantly sold away his rights to the LRB name to then guitarist Stephen Housden (Housden has since retired/left the band).

I saw a variation of this line-up in 2000 and they did put on a good show but they aren't really LRB as far as I'm concerned. The lead vocals are handled predominantly by Wayne Nelson who joined the group in 1981. Nelson is best known for his vocals on the LRB hit, The Night Owls from the Time Exposure album (Nelson's first with the band).

Like I said they still put on a good show, so I'm not trying to discourage you from attending I just wanted to make sure that you're well informed prior to making your decision.
